W.I.F.E Lessons from Fitness

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

While working out with my trainer, he had me do a plank exercise for abs. This is a very challenging exercise, where I had to hold my body up on my elbows for 45 seconds. While doing the exercise, when I felt as I was about to drop, my trainer would say, “Don’t drop, you’re almost there.” When I heard those words, I would get a little stronger and hold on because I didn’t want to drop if I was near the end. My trainer would never tell me how much time I had left; he would just say you’re almost there”. I did the exercise three times, and on my last set, my trainer uttered those words even before I got started good, because he saw how they motivated me.

I am writing today to tell you, “Don’t drop, you’re almost there!” Even though I can’t tell you exactly how much time you have left, I can tell you that you’re closer today than you were yesterday; you’re closer this hour than you were this morning! You’re closer this year than you were 5 years ago. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Don’t drop, you’re almost at your breakthrough, keep trusting! Don’t drop, your healing is almost here, keep praying! Don’t drop, your relationship is being restored, keep sowing love! Don’t drop, salvation is coming for your family member, keep witnessing! Don’t drop, our King’s return is near and you’ll be in glory, keep believing!

I leave you with the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (even though the entire chapter is good!), “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

God has equipped you for this role as a wife, and he can use you mightily to strengthen your marriage; to build up the kingdom, and to give glory in all that you do!

Love ya'.
